#108 - Egg Russian Roulette
If you don't know my little brother, Jeff, you should make it a point to meet him because he is hilarious. Jeff had one request for our family trip. He wanted to play a rousing game of Egg Russian Roulette with our nephews. You might be asking yourself "What is Egg Russian Roulette?" Jimmy Fallon is the mastermind behind the game as seen here...
Having been inspired by his good friend Jimmy and playing the game with friends while living in D.C., Jeff decided to share it with our family. He brought along 3 cartons with 18 eggs in each (54 eggs total). It took a little time but he hard boiled all of the eggs except for the 12 that he left raw to make the game exciting. Everyone gathered around a picnic table in the back of the house and the games began. I wish the video had worked of him giving the directions for the game because it was classic. Jeff even demonstrated with a specially marked raw egg to get the little boys excited. Not only did the nephews participate but all of the adults also took turns. I chose a hard boiled egg on my first attempt but wasn't quite so lucky the second attempt.
In the end it came down to a grudge match between Grandpa and Reed. Try as we might, it was impossible to distinguish the raw from the hard boiled. Grandpa was trying to lose and on at least 3 occasions had been promised by the game master (Jeff) that his next egg would be raw only to end up with a hard boiled egg. Reed ended up being victorious and walked away the Egg Russian Roulette Champion and winner of the prestigious *Golden Egg award.
Love all of them and the crazy things we do together. Isn't my family the best!?
